Beginning in the Autumn of 2023 we are increasing our online courses to include our well established and highly regarded Certificate in Supervision (L6 CPCAB) and the level 5 Diploma in Psychotherapeutic Cunselling (PCL5 CPCAB)
(Applications are now being accepted for our Autumn 2024 online courses)
From February 2023 we will be offering an Introduction to Counselling Young People (BACP Stage 1 curriculum) for those who would like to develop their work with this age group. (Please see the CPD page for more details of the next course)
Introduction to Counselling Young People
Beginning Sunday October 13th 2024
(Each session will run from 9.30 to 3.30pm)
This course has been developed in line with the BACP curriculum for stage 1 Introduction to counselling young people and will enable you to gain theoretical legal and ethical knowledge, skills and experiential understanding for working with those aged 11-18 years.
This is for counsellors who are in their final year of training or those who are qualified and are considering working with adolescents.
It covers:
*Beginnings of the therapeutic relationship with young people
*Working with the relationship with young people
*Development in adolescence (including attachment theory)
*Ethical, professional, legal issues and young people
*Understanding groups for working with young people
*Working creatively with young people
*Endings and young people.
Throughout the course there will be experiential work, to help gain an understanding of the importance of self awareness when working with adolescents.
Course Fee: £450 (this can be paid in monthly instalments.

T o gain the ICT certificate and a report stating that you are competent to work with this age group you will be asked to undertake assessment, both a skills based assessment and a piece of written work demonstrating your learning form the course.
Alternatively a certificate of attendance will be given to those who don't
wish to take the assessment.

This course is for counsellors and psychotherapists who are looking to expand their practice by incorporating supervision.
This course is delivered live online via Zoom over 7 weekends from October 5th & 6th 2024
If you have a minimum of 450 practice hours and are eligible for BACP or another professional body's accreditation then you can apply for this course.
There is both internal assessment (building a portfolio) and an external case review to successfully qualify as a supervisor.
Fee: £1750 (this does not include the registration fee for CPCAB which is paid seprartely)
